Assistance Dogs

Recognised assistance dogs travel free and are welcome in all passenger areas, including restaurants and cabins. Please let Brittany Ferries know when you book so they can make arrangements.

Before you travel

How to request assistance.

If you're a passenger with reduced mobility or you have any specific accessibility needs, the most important thing is to let Brittany Ferries know when you book. This allows them to:

  • Allocate an accessible cabin
  • Arrange assistance at the port for embarkation and disembarkation
  • Ensure priority boarding so you're settled comfortably before departure
  • Make any other specific arrangements you need

How to get in touch

The easiest way is to call Brittany Ferries directly:

  • Ireland: 021 427 7801
  • UK: 0330 159 7000

You can also note your requirements when booking online, but a phone call ensures everything is properly arranged. The customer service team is experienced in helping passengers with reduced mobility plan their crossing.

At the port

Arrive at check-in with plenty of time. Staff at both Rosslare Europort and Cherbourg can provide assistance with boarding. If you've notified Brittany Ferries in advance, they'll be expecting you and can guide you through the process smoothly.

Important note

Accessibility varies by vessel.

Accessibility facilities differ between ships. The E-Flexer cruise ferries (Galicia, Salamanca, Santona) and the Armorique offer the most comprehensive accessible facilities, including adapted cabins, lifts, and wheelchair access throughout.

Please note: The MV Cotentin does not have wheelchair-accessible staterooms. If you need an accessible cabin, make sure your sailing is on one of the E-Flexer vessels or the Armorique. You can check which ship is operating your crossing when you book.

If you're unsure which vessel is best suited to your needs, contact Brittany Ferries before booking. They can advise on the most suitable sailing and make all the necessary arrangements.
