Standard outside cabin interior on a Brittany Ferries E-Flexer cruise ferry — twin berths, porthole, en-suite door.
Standard outside cabin on the overnight Cherbourg–Rosslare crossing. Twin berths, porthole, en-suite bathroom.

Cabin categories

Four ways to sleep at sea.

Brittany Ferries offers four cabin tiers on the Cherbourg–Rosslare crossing — from a no-frills inside berth to Club Class on the E-Flexer cruise ferries. Every cabin has an en-suite shower and WC, fresh linen and climate control. Which categories are actually on offer depends on the ship: book early in summer, when the better cabins go fast.

🛏️

Standard Inside Cabin

A comfortable, windowless cabin located on interior decks. Two to four berths with en-suite bathroom. Everything you need for a good night's sleep -- no frills, no fuss. Available on all vessels.

🌊

Standard Outside Cabin

Same comfort as inside cabins, but with a porthole or window. Watch the Atlantic slide past as you drift off. Available on the E-Flexer cruise ferries (Galicia, Salamanca, Santoña) and the Armorique.

Premium Cabin

A step up in space and finish. Larger cabin, better bedding, and a few extras that make the crossing feel like a mini break. Available on E-Flexer vessels and the Armorique.

👑

Club Class

The top category. Generous space, premium furnishings, and access to exclusive lounge areas on applicable vessels. If you want the crossing to feel like an occasion, this is the one. Available on select E-Flexer sailings.

MV Cotentin

DUX luxury beds. Hansgrohe fittings. A proper night.

The Cotentin is a freight-focused RoPax vessel, but don't let that fool you. Her 120 cabins across Decks 8 and 9 feature DUX luxury beds -- the same Swedish brand you'll find in five-star hotels. Hansgrohe bathroom fixtures, LCD TVs, individual climate control, and air conditioning come as standard.

It's a quieter, more intimate crossing. Fewer passengers, less bustle, and a genuinely comfortable cabin. If you're the type who values sleep over entertainment, the Cotentin is worth considering.

Good to know: The Cotentin has 216 berths across 120 cabins. She doesn't have wheelchair-accessible staterooms, so if you need accessible accommodation, book on one of the E-Flexer vessels or the Armorique instead.

Tips

Get the most from your cabin booking.

📅

Book early

Cabins fill fast, especially in summer and on weekend sailings. The earlier you book, the better your choice of category and position on the ship.

🌙

Always book a cabin

This is an overnight crossing of around 18 hours. You'll want a bed. Reclining seats are available on some vessels, but a cabin makes a real difference.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Families

Four-berth cabins (two lower beds plus two upper berths) suit a family of four. Children 0–3 travel free without their own berth; 4–15 get 50% off the adult fare. Travelling with a dog? Pet-friendly cabins are limited — see the pet travel page to plan ahead.

🚗

Leave the car, head upstairs

Once on board, the vehicle decks are closed for the crossing. Bring everything you'll need overnight in a small bag -- you won't be able to return to your car.

Vessel rotation

Which ship for which cabin.

Brittany Ferries runs seven sailings a week year-round, with the rotation split between the Cotentin and the E-Flexer trio. Which vessel covers your date decides which cabin tiers are actually for sale. The cheapest seats and the top-tier suites don't always live on the same hull.

MV Cotentin — the steady backbone

120 cabins across Decks 8 and 9, 216 berths. DUX beds, Hansgrohe fittings. No Club Class and no wheelchair-accessible staterooms, but the quietest crossing on the route. Read more about the Cotentin.

🛳️

Galicia · Salamanca · Santoña — full cabin spread

The E-Flexer trio (214.5 m, 343 cabins each) carries the widest choice: standard inside, outside, premium and Club Class with lounge access. Pick these dates if you want the top tier — see the Galicia profile.

🚢

Armorique — back on rotation since November 2025

The 168 m Armorique adds a smaller-ship feel: standard inside, outside and premium cabins, plus an onboard cinema. Details on the Armorique page.

🚛

NORBAY — freight charter from March 2026

A RoRo freighter chartered to add capacity. Limited passenger cabins and no leisure facilities — book a passenger date instead unless you're hauling unaccompanied trailers.
